SUPER CHILL AT SCHOOL

Children’s lives should be about playing, learning, arguing, falling in love, falling down, getting back up – and of course, sticking stickers on their foreheads. But sometimes, there’s so much going on in those little heads that they don’t have the time or space for any of that. Super Chill helps them deal with everyday stimuli, so they can find more calm for the things that truly matter.

In class too, children and their “learning superpowers” can benefit from Super Chill. School is not only where kids learn maths and drawing – it’s also where they learn to manage emotions and busyness. Within the safe walls of the classroom, they can gently discover how Super Chill’s relaxing exercises work.

INTERACTIVE WHITEBOARD

  1. Check your Wi-Fi
Make sure all devices are on the same Wi-Fi network. Both the device with the Super Chill app and the whiteboard must be connected to the same network.

  2. Choose your Super Chill video
Open the Super Chill app and play a video. Maybe The Swing? Or The Lion King?

  3. Tap the cast/airplay button
At the top right of the screen you’ll see a small square symbol, just like the picture here. That’s the cast button. Tap it, select your whiteboard from the list, and yesss — you’re connected.

Note: Make sure you’re using the latest version of Super Chill, otherwise casting might not work. Or check out our YouTube playlist for a quick chill moment!

“Studies clearly show that children who regularly practise relaxation and meditation exercises perform better at school and develop greater mental resilience.”
Nina Kolleck Professor of Education and Socialisation Theory at the University of Potsdam
Pressure

STIMULI AT SCHOOL

Some worrying figures: the number of children in the Netherlands experiencing emotional problems is rising. Even in primary school, pupils are facing psychological challenges and performance pressure.

A study (Trimbos, 2022) among 400 respondents (Dutch parents with children under twelve) showed that over 76% believe their child experiences more pressure and overstimulation than they did themselves at that age. This echoes a recent call from the NIVOZ Institute for Education and Upbringing to the Education Council to address the pressures children are growing up with today.

Resilience

THE SUPER CHILL APP AT SCHOOL

With the Super Chill app, we can support children in coping with pressure and create a healthier, happier school life. The app is designed to be fun: the exercises are colourful, playful, and help kids deal with stimuli and challenges – so they can face life with a fresh and calm mind. At school, teachers can show the exercises on the interactive whiteboard and kick off the day in a super chill way. You can also make it a moment together: a super chill head before reading, for example. You can cast the app to the whiteboard, or simply use our YouTube channel.
